What is THCa Flower?

THCa flower refers to federally legal hemp flower that contains high amounts of THCa and less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. Cannabis plants naturally produce high amounts of THCa, which is a cannabinoid found in freshly harvested cannabis flowers.

What's the difference between THCa and Delta 9 THC?

Very little, but a lot at the same time. THCa (Tetrahydrocannabinol acid) is the precursor to Delta 9 THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). Delta 9 THC wouldn’t naturally exist without THCa. Delta 9 THC is the active (psychotropic) version of the same cannabinoid.
 

Is THCA Flower legal in NC?

A lot of people believe that THCa is made in a lab with test tubes. In reality THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant. The only difference is that It is the precursor to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis.  

THCa in its raw form is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that has a range of potential health benefits on its own. But when exposed to heat, THCa actually goes through a process called decarboxylation which then converts it to it's non-acidic form, Delta 9 THC.
